Perx was born from a simple observation: people want to get better, but healthcare rarely makes it easy — or rewarding — to stick with treatment plans.
Our Story
It started with a grandfather and a leaflet
When Perx co-founder Hugo Rourke watched his grandfather struggle to follow his treatment plan, he noticed something striking: the only support available was an information leaflet. No daily encouragement. No rewards for doing the right thing. No way to know if he was on track.
Hugo knew there had to be a better way. He teamed up with Scott Taylor, and together they asked a provocative question: what if we applied the engagement principles that make games and social media irresistible — and put them to work for health?
The result is Perx: a platform that combines behavioral economics, gamification, and clinical science to create a healthcare experience people actually look forward to using every day. Not because they have to — because they want to.
